I do not see the world as you!

Boxed inside,
I tell you this today,
And probably a hundred more times,
I am me and not you!
I am different than you!

I see you nod and process the facts that I jotted,
Yet you call and say,
Not today, not you.

I scream, I shout,
I remain silent and ignore you throughout,
Yet you do not seem to comprehend,
I do not see the world as you,
I do not know the world as you.

Don't merge the concepts of you and me,
We are like geography and history,
They are different in subject matter,
But intertwined together,
They are individuals with identities,
But when read with help of other,
The knowledge that it imparts is larger than one or the other.

I respect the words,
That you say or write,
I respect the ideas and thoughts sometimes,
Opinions are yours to form,
I have my principles to follow.

So I repeat today and probably forever,
I do not see the world as you,
But I hope you see some day,
As I see it today,
A simple world,
Defined by a simple word,
 "Ubuntu".

The Rescue (Short Story)

Minding his own business as he carefully selects his groceries from the aisle he is stared upon like an outcast, so he hides behind his hooded jacket adjusting it to cover his face. Every time he steps out of the house the piercing eyes remind him of the scars he wants to hide, the scars he wants to forget. Decades have passed, so many comments have been hurled towards him. At times it reaches to the point where he gets too tired, too exhausted to continue. Standing in front of the mirror everyday he stares at himself and towards the scars, the scars he tries to cover so hard everyday, trying to hide it from the world but fails. The half burnt face, the burnt and disfigured left arm, and the unseen scars on his mind which were the painful of all, a gift from the society and its people, that he endured for so long and still continues to do so, every single day. Often looking, rather peeping out of the window, he gets lost in his thoughts and strolls back to that day which changed him fo...

Barrier Breakers

The world will judge you, By what you do, and not what you think, The world will judge you, By what you say, and not why you say, The world will judge you, By your appearance, and not your intellect. And yet,

The Ignored Light

Source:Pixabay Trapped in a box, Of "know your place", I find my voice lost, In that deep ocean of internal struggle. I see the melting wax, I see the burning wick, But lost is the light, In the rays of a bulb. A light which would shine, A light which would bring smile, In dark houses and small alleys, I see it battling each day, With hope to win someday. Powerless, I stare at the flame with hope, Praying at the same time, For it to win someday, For it to win every day. ©onerandompoet
