Thinkstock Sound of the engine’s horn, Woke me up alarmed and warned, As I cursed under my breath, Angry that I was, Today, finally at night I slept, After that long sleepless July, Yet it’s just midnight, And I am awake, eyes open wide. I peep out of the window, Wishing silently for an espresso, Staring into the darkness, Shadows going fast, Suddenly reminding me of the past. The happy times, the memories, The blues and the melodies, And the smell of my garden tulips, A tinge of smile, Breaking down my lips. I lift my face, Towards the sky, Twinkling stars, some shining bright, Reminding me of my darling’s smile, Few drop of tears sliding down, Memories of her, In her wedding gown, And then came the memory, Of her burial ground, My heart started screaming aloud.
